The Charlton County School District has been invited to present at the Federal Programs Conference being held by the Georgia Department of Education this week. The school district was invited to present based on significant improvements in Reading achievement in recent years.
Charlton County Schools 3rd grade reading achievement ranked 80th out of 180 Georgia districts in 2018, and has improved to a ranking in the top 10 of all districts in Georgia in 2022 and 2023, ranking 2nd in the state in 2023. Dr. Felicia Sauls, District Curriculum Director, Kristi Simpkins, FES Principal, and Heather Rigdon, FES Instructional Coach will be presenting about the district's significant improvement in Reading achievement.
