
The CCHS FFA welding team made an excellent showing in the area meet. The schools competing were Bacon, Berrien, Brantley, Charlton, Coffee, Lanier, McIntosh, Pierce, and Ware Counties. CCHS finished second to Ware County. Zach Morgan was the second overall individual welder, and Landon Trogdon was the high scorer in the cutting category. The team members were Landon Trogdon, Zach Morgan, Koda Ackerman, and Tyler Howell. Special thanks to Audrey Pickren our FFA advisor and Tim Birchall our Coastal Pines welding teacher.

It is an honor when you win the region and get in the state competition, but to finish 2nd in the state is special. We wanted to post one more time before putting up the trophies.

The FAA will be hiring Air Traffic Controllers soon. Applications open April 19-22. If you know someone between 18 and 30 go to www.faa.gov/be-atc to apply. The salary range is between $103,000 to $164,000 . The training is paid for.


Charlton County High School would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to Ms. Sandy McDonald and Mr. Anthony Jackson for their generous Prom Angel donations to two students at CCHS. They work hard to fundraise throughout the year in order to provide prom essentials for these lucky students. In doing so, they honor the memory of their late daughter Coco. This is the fifth year of the Prom Angel program. Through this program, the students selected receive a prom gift bag including gift cards for attire, grooming, and dinner. This award helps to ease some of the financial burden that arises during senior year. Congrats to this years recipients: Demorrion Martin and Aarissa Koch



Just reminding you that Herff Jones will be at CCHS Tuesday, March 26th during all lunches to deliver cap and gowns and senior announcements. They will also take class ring re-orders. that day.

Charlton FCCLA attended the 2024 State Leadership Conference in Athens this past weekend. Leyna Pollett placed 3rd in the entire state in online proficiency testing for Nutrition & Food Science. Josiah Allen-Sanchez received a bronze medal for Early Childhood Education. Luz Peña Morales & Tyler Alberson received a silver medal in Chapter Service Project Display. Sara Dasher received the Allen-Childs Scholarship. Charlton FCCLA was recognized as an Honor Roll chapter!
Congrats to Mrs. Haynes and all of the FCCLA members that participated on a job well done!

This is a reminder that CCHS does not accept any Valentine Day deliveries. Do not bring balloons, gifts of any kind, or candy to share at school.

Charlton County FCCLA had a record number of participants at region competition this past Saturday at Long County High School. Every student put so much work into their project and should be proud of themselves. The following students are state qualifiers and will move on to state competition next month in Athens.
Tyler Alberson, Luz Pena Morales, Josiah Allen-Sanchez, Emily DeRoche, and Reagan Gaston. Congratulations to these and all the students who represented CCHS well. A very special thank you to Mrs. Haynes and her tremendous FCCLA program at CCHS.

The Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) sponsors a District Honor Band and an All-State Band annually to showcase the most talented students in each district and in the state of Georgia. Students are selected for participation by an extremely competitive audition process. Charlton County High School is proud to congratulate Colton Crews for being selected to the GMEA All State Band. Colton is in the 10th grade and plays the bassoon.
