The administration and staff of Charlton County High School would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Tracey Willis, our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year. Tracey wears many hats at CCHS. In addition to teaching human anatomy and physiology and animal science, she is also the head of our science department. She does so much more than teach academics to the students of CCHS. Tracey is an avid supporter of all extra curricular activities and encourages each and every student she encounters to reach their highest potential. We are so very thankful for Ms. Willis and all she does to make Charlton County High School a wonderful place for students and staff. As a token of our appreciation, Principal, Danny McCoy presented Ms. Willis with a gift that we know she will get lots of use out of! Congratulation again, Ms. Willis!

Congratulations to our CCHS Tennis Teams. We have had an excellent tennis program for the last several years. Both teems were region runner ups this year. That means they will host a round of state playoffs. Congratulations to all players. Also, thank you to Coach Tomika Everett, Coach Marcus Hawkins, and Coach Lynn Murray. Lynn has done so much for our program the past few years, and both of his kids have graduated.

Here are two more wonderful pictures from our cosmetology class today at CCHS. A special thank you to Erika Knowles and her girls.

The CPTC Cosmetology Pathway has been a tremendous success at CCHS. These girls are finishing up their Coastal Pines Technical Collège Certificate Program this year at CCHS at no cost to them. This is our second year with a full cosmetology pathway at CCHS. These students really love this program and their teacher. This course is taught by Erika Knowles.

Our welding has exploded here at CCHS. Mr. Dale Cooper started the program and now Mr. Tim Birchall has seen it grow every year. We have gone from 2 blocks per day to 4 blocks thanks to Eryn Parsons and Chad Swanson at Coastal Pines Technical College. Almost a quarter of our students are signed up for the program next year. You can get multiple TCC certificates from Coastal Pines in one school year at CCHS at no cost to the student. Since 2017, we have numerous students who picked the welding pathway that are making good money without any college debt.

These students are earning their Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from Coastal Pines Technical College without leaving Charlton County and at no cost to them. CPTC has a great partnership with CCHS thanks to Eryn Parsons and Chad Swanson among others. A special thanks to Breanna Knowles for her work as CNA instructor, athletic trainer, and school nurse for CCHS.
