The Ferst Readers Community Action Team (CAT) was available at Charlton County High School on Thursday, December 10th to encourage students to register their Birth to age 4 siblings for Ferst Readers. Those youngsters will receive a free book with a newsletter that includes some activities delivered in the mail monthly until each child turns five years old. Charlton County's Ferst Readers CAT has registered more than 30% of the children who are Birth to Age Five in the county. This wonderful gift of books, reading, and literacy is one that will keep on giving for a lifetime.

Now that CCHS is a 1:1 school (each student has a device), we have decided to celebrate the teachers and classrooms that demonstrate excellence in Chromebook care. In October, our administrators evaluated each classroom Chromebook cart and identified the best carts based on neatness and organization. Coach Schwing and Mrs. Davis were our finalists! Next, all students and faculty members at CCHS participated in a survey to select the winner. October's winner was Coach Schwing's class. Thank you to Coach Schwing and his students for caring for your Chromebooks! The students enjoyed cocoa and cookies in the media center to celebrate their win! We are looking forward to our next Chrome cart competition at the end of November.
