Christmas Breakfast Schedule
Please remember Christmas breakfast forms and money are due Thursday, November 21. You will not be able to purchase a ticket a the door.
Charlton County Schools will re-open for students and staff tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1. We understand that some families are still without power. For those that are still affected by the storm, please know that we understand and fully expect you to make taking care of your family your primary concern. For those that are able to attend, schools will be open on Tuesday. Stay safe!
Currently, about 30% of homes in Charlton County are without power, and cell service is nearly non-existent in many areas. For those reasons, Charlton County Schools will remain closed on Monday, Sept. 30 to provide an opportunity for power and communications to be restored.
Charlton County Schools will be closed for students and staff Thursday and Friday, September 26 and 27, due to potential impact from Hurricane Helene. The latest National Weather Service briefing indicated that Charlton County should prepare for Tropical Storm force winds as early as Thursday morning, with likely arrival between noon and 3 p.m. on Thursday. School will reopen Monday, September 30.
Charlton County Schools will be open for students on Thursday August 8th.
Buses will not be able to travel down the following roads:
Old Moniac Road
Heather Road in Winokur
Emmaus Cutoff
This will affect less than 10 students. If your child lives on one of these roads, no bus will come to get them on Thursday, and their absence will be excused.
Additional updates regarding when buses will pick up on these roads will be provided on Thursday.
Based on the condition of many of our dirt roads, especially in the south end of the county, and with guidance provided by the Charlton County Road Department and Emergency Management Agency, school will be cancelled for students on Wednesday, August 7th.
Although there is no school for students, Wednesday August 7 will be a regular work day for teachers and staff.
We will provide updates on when school will open for students on Wednesday after road conditions are assessed.
Based on the latest briefing provided by the National Weather Service for our area regarding Tropical Storm Debby, Charlton County Schools will be closed Monday, August 5th and Tuesday, August 6th for all students and staff. The potential for tropical storm force winds as early as Monday morning and through Tuesday morning, as well as the potential for major flooding the next two days has led to this decision, as student safety is our top priority. We plan to have our first day of school for students on Wednesday, August 7th. If any further changes or cancellations are needed, we will provide updates via text messaging, our website, and Facebook.
Tomorrow, May 1st is an early release day at FES. Pickups will begin at 12:30 and buses will run approximately two hours earlier than a normal day.

At Folkston Elementary School, we will be releasing our early bus students at 12:00, pick up students at 12:05 and our late bus students at 12:25 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
FES Fall Festival scheduled for September 30th has been canceled. The Fall Festival has been rescheduled for Friday, November 4th.
