Georgia Literacy Leader

We are thrilled to announce that our 6th and 8th grade teachers have been honored by the Georgia Department of Education for their outstanding achievements in literacy. On Thursday, February 13, 2025, State School Superintendent Richard Woods visited BMS to present the Literacy Leader Banner to our dedicated educators, recognizing their exceptional work in increasing the number of students reading at or above grade level on the 2023-2024 Georgia Milestones Assessment (GMAS).

This recognition is part of the state's initiative to highlight schools demonstrating significant achievement or growth in reading proficiency. Our 6th and 8th grade teams have shown remarkable dedication to fostering a love for reading and ensuring our students' success.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our teachers for this well-deserved honor and thank our students, families, and community for their continuous support in promoting literacy. Way to go, BMS!
